FRANK NAMED "ROOKIE OF THE RACE"
WITH BEST CAREER FINISH
BLUFFTON S.C. (JULY 28, 1999) - A. J. Frank, a regular in the NASCAR
Slim Jim All-Pro Series recorded his best career finish Saturday in the
Arndt & Herman Windows 200 at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C.
Frank, 24, of Bluffton, S.C., drove his No. 11 Fuel Clothing/Millionaire
Magazine Pontiac from the 27th starting position to finish on the lead
lap and register an 11th place finish in the 200-lap contest. A. J.
bested 9 other rookie starters to collect the "Rookie-of-the-Race" Award
and moves into 6th place in the "Rookie-of-the-Year" standings.
"The track conditions and the race were similar to our event here last
month when I finished 13th but the difference this time around was that
we moved up two spots and finished on the lead lap," said Frank. "The
team is getting better each time out and we're ready to challenge the
Louisville track this weekend."
The NASCAR Slim Jim All-Pro Series returns to action this Saturday when
it heads to Louisville , K.Y. for the NAPA Auto Parts 300 at the 7/16
mile Louisville Motor Speedway. The Louisville stop will be the 12th
race on the 16 race Slim Jim All-Pro schedule and the only 1999 race
that will be 300 laps in length.
